Vision

A thriving mental health counseling practice that teaches individuals how to adaptively cope with difficult life experiences while also living in wholeness, joy, healing, and peace with God, themselves, and others.

The Counseling Room does not seek nor settle for temporary and superficial behavioral changes for its clients. Rather, the goal is genuine, enduring, internal, and external positive life transformations—in thought, emotion, ambition, attitude, character, daily decisions, and overall living.

Mission

Scripture, prayer, and spiritual guidance are the backbone of The Counseling Room. In addition to relying on the triune God, evidenced-based interventions are appropriately and uniquely applied with each client.

Hello! My name is Ms. Sashay Goodletty and I am the Steward of The Counseling Room LLC. As a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I am qualified to counsel individuals, couples, and families.

Over the past 6 years, I have provided therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults for a wide range of concerns, such as, depression, stress, grief, various traumas, school/work difficulties, conflict resolution, and issues that are unique to men and women of color.

Scripture, prayer, and spiritual guidance are the backbone of The Counseling Room. In addition to relying on the triune God, evidenced-based interventions are very important in my counseling approach and are appropriately and uniquely applied with each client. In this sense, God and science comfortably abide in the same space.

As I walk alongside clients, I lean heavily on the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach of counseling. CBT rests on the premise that thoughts significantly affect emotions and actions. Therefore, clients are taught how to become aware of their thinking patterns--especially the unhealthy ones—and, when necessary, confront and challenge thinking patterns to create positive life transformations.

The Counseling Room is a safe space for clients to speak freely, sit silently, question, cry, yell…all within a validating and supportive environment.

Clients take a huge risk inviting me into their private lives and what an amazing honor this is. In turn, I provide honest feedback and encourage strategic action steps towards identified goals in an atmosphere filled with trust and respect.
